The ADC 2020 Gala Dinner hosted by Rabobank lived up to expectations and hype in an entertaining and wonderful evening celebrating the generosity of Australia’s dairy farming community.
With some of the biggest names in Australian dairy on hand, more than more than $35,000 was raised for causes that matter including Cancer Research UK and Australia’s own local heroes BlazeAid assisting farmers rebuild after natural disaster.
Dairy auctioneer Brian Leslie certainly lived up to his esteemed reputation with a captivating auction performance encouraging delegates to dig deep for some fantastic auction items on offer.
Dig deep they did indeed, with generosity and spirit epitomised by the losing Matt Moran dinner bidder donating matching funds to make it $16,000 in total for the culinary experience. Watching Brian Leslie and Matt Moran interacting on stage was certainly a highlight and a memorable ADC moment and we thank both parties for their involvement.
The Andrew Baines painting commissioned by Tama Australia in support of the attendance of Dr Jude Capper at ADC 2020 Melbourne sold to none other than Jude herself, purchasing as a memento of her time at ADC 2020 and taking home a piece of our signature event forever. Matt Moran was also on-hand to witness some of the most intense bidding for the evening as a prized offering of dinner for two at his acclaimed Aria Restaurant on Sydney Quay was on offer.
Guaranteeing preferential seating, premium wine list and his own personal number, Matt’s generosity escalated and so did the bidding reaching a phenomenal $8,000 which was later matched by a fellow bidder to bring total to $16,000. Matt Moran generously offered a second dinner in further demonstration of his support of the Australian dairy industry.
Further items were just as successful including:
- NSW South Coast Escape donated by Rabobank
- Buckland Luxury Escape donated by Bega
- Pallet of MaxCare premium milk calf replacer donated by MaxCare
- Year’s worth of cheese donated by Saputo
- ADC 2021 Delegate package including full registration and travel donated by ADC Board
= total of $35,200 raised with $32,000 going towards BlazeAid.
If ever you need to decide where to send your donations… look up BlazeAid, in the last 10 years they have assisted more than 5,585 properties clearing more than 10,000 kms of fence and rebuilding more than 8,896kms by more than 19,000 volunteers to help farmers rebuild.. truly amazing!!!
