Australian Dairy Conference

About Us

The Australian Dairy Conference was initiated by a group of leading dairy farmers, scientists and industry representatives from around Australia. The group identified that the industry needed an independent national dairy conference to stretch and stimulate farmers and encourage them to make positive changes to their dairy businesses.

The aim is for the Australian Dairy Conference to be the premier dairy event that inspires the industry, giving it pride in its achievements and generating optimism in its future.

A company limited by guarantee was established in 2001 to ensure the ongoing success of the conference for many years to come. The company oversees the implementation of the conference, and the distribution of surpluses back into the dairy industry. The input and ideas for the conference program comes from a conference committee appointed by the board. The committee is renewed annually to allow the infusion of new people and new ideas.

The current Board of ADC consists of eight farmers elected by the delegate members for 2 year terms at the AGM during each conference, a Scientific Director, an industry representative and a Director nominated by Dairy Australia. The Directors bear ultimate responsibility for the conduct of ADC and must formally sign off on final Conference budgets and the program. The ADC is a “not for profit” Company where those involved give freely of their time and skills.

Conferences are held in February of each year at a different location around Australia and have been highly successful.
